You're like a NSA analyst that decide to barge into people's thanksgiving diners and start yelling "You didn't do the dishes one week ago! And you faked sickness not to go see your brother-in-law art show!". Possibly true, but annoying and misleading for lack of context.

I'm off. If you can't work with other persons, don't be surprised if your game doesn't attract anyone. At this point, its not the game itself that is turning people off, it's your behaviour. If you learn to be respectful and polite, then it might have a future, but you're killing it.

It is my concern. I enjoy those games and I don't want you to delay or **** off the people doing it. You know what? If you continue, I think I'll kjust quit and join the other on reporting you on sight. Enjoy your community of one.

P.S. And yeah, I know GalenEvil has been late. Doesn't give you the right to start attacking everyone for no good reasons. And his code has been updated by now, it's in the repo.

I didn't donate anything, except time for the French translation. They never told anyone they were tilesets ready to go. And they never took credit for anyone's work, as GalenEvil has regularly cited utunnel both on forum and the dev logs.

Anyway, please stop. Look on Bay12: Toady is another programmer doing his own little free game. Your relentless spam is taking significant development time away. If you want to discuss, discuss, but just stay quite, refrain from ad hominem and don't just post the same thing again and again.

Moreover, it's not working. If you had a community or anything to show for it, maybe, but you're actively keeping people away with your behavior. Look at the CDDA forum and yours. One got a vibrant community, now spanning several language, and the other got you and me. This is not because of the CDDA team, it's your own making. You're not going to draw anyone with spam and ban-dodging.

They're not lying to me in any way. As for keeping information from me, you're ton one that keep his source code closed.

It's not the fact that you posted, it, it's the way you do it. You're spamming, which explain why every single forum has been locking you.

It also makes people distrust you, to tell you to what point, I actually used a different password that the one I use on most forum here, because I wouldn't trust you at all.

Spamming thread and attacking for no reason is not communicating. People were open before you started spamming and ban-dodigng.

How would you react if DarklingWolf created a new account everyday to copy-paste ads for DDA here?

Posting the same copy-pasted ads without participating in the disucssion is spam and is unwelcome anywhere on the internet. It's not just Bay1 of DDA, when I was looking for this forum, typing Cataclysm:MGZ in google brought at least a few more forums where you practiced the same thing.

Actually, something I've been wondering. Why all the spam and bandodge on Bay12 and the Cata forum? All they do is make people distrust and dislike you and your work. And it's not really good advertisement, as shown by the fact that we're only 2 on this forum. So yeah, why do you keep doing this, rather than try to engage constructively with people?
8  General Category / Cataclysm: A Zombie Survival Roguelike / Re: Factions on: August 24, 2013, 09:51:32 am
Ok. First, why do you speak of 25*25 when the tile size is only between 12*12 and 17*17? Also, I'm no programmer, but since the games run SDL, wouldn't any more graphic thing end up being processed by the GPU? As such, since Cata's graphics are limited, you're unlikely to exceed your GPU capacity by increasing window size.

I could be wrong though.

Anyway, is it just me, or are you really averse to having people customize their game? AFAIK, changing tiles require a recompile (and since your code is hidden, no one but you can do it), changing volume require messing with files, one can't change the window size... It seems to me you're making a game for yourself, suited to your particular need, with little regards to other people. There is nothing wrong in itself with that, but it makes it harder to build a community. I actually know of a single game based on that principle with a decent following and it's Aurora, but that game is kind of in a niche of itself, while Cataclysm do have other concurrent.

Moreover, one of the attraction of roguelike is large, rapidly evolving content, but here since nothing is in .json and the code is not public, the fact is that no one except you can add anything.

Wouldn't be too bad for tables and counters I guess, but I strongly oppose it for bushes. It change traveling through a large swathe of forest a PITA. I don't want to have to focus when I'm just running back home after a long day of looting.

And change that loss of time. Or else, everything should take time. Look in your inventory if there is something useful? Look into the crafting menu? All those should take time then.

The game does not simply allow you to walk over table and cupboard, it penalize you by giving you a speed penalty. Learning to use speed penalties to our advantage is the n1 advice new players are given. Every Cataclysm players knows the world is not flat.

But at some time, the hassle of dealing with that is simply not worth it. When you're simply crossing a forest, you don't want to painstakingly avoid each bush, because even though it's realistic, it's simply a pain in the ass from the player's POV. It adds nothing to the game experience.
11  General Category / Cataclysm: A Zombie Survival Roguelike / Re: Factions on: August 23, 2013, 02:45:33 am
Yeah, sorry, I meant the design of the message windows. It easily take twice as much space and in CDDA. Also, how would having the option to increase screen size more would hamper performance for everyone?
12  General Category / Cataclysm: A Zombie Survival Roguelike / Actually, are you still develloping? on: August 22, 2013, 10:34:00 am
I didn't see any new features for week. Are you still actively working on this? If so, what's coming next? You said stuff about mission, but what do you plan to change?
13  General Category / Cataclysm: A Zombie Survival Roguelike / [Info missing]:Debug wishing meny doesn't contain info on how to use it on: August 22, 2013, 10:33:21 am
So I was wishing for some acid bomb to try something, and I notice your wish meny doesn't explain how to browse it. I tried the DDA commands and they worked, but someone who never played DDA would be at loss. Can you add those commands there?
14  General Category / Cataclysm: A Zombie Survival Roguelike / Re: Factions on: August 22, 2013, 10:23:13 am
Even if it does impact performance, why don't you simply let the player decide wether he want better performance or more tiles? Also, here's what my screen look like, with 17 tiles in height. Still got some more room.

Also, why does you lateralbar take up so much space?
15  General Category / Cataclysm: A Zombie Survival Roguelike / Re: [Suggestion+Bug]:Remove prompt when running over bushes/furniture on: August 22, 2013, 10:13:38 am
Okay, so the point is actually to **** me off.

Edit: Sorry for being rude, but it makes abo****ely no sense. Do you also put up a prompt when going near a powerful enemy? With a penalty if you tried?

Edit2: You're not even consistant, as the prompt before walking on acid for exemple doesn't take any time. My guess is that in you're coding, you're putting the prompt up after the game processed your move. You should fix that.
